Craig Smith
Craig Smith joined the NSVSUC in March, 2025 taking on the role of the Executive Director. Craig relocated to Winchester, Virginia in 1993 to join the ranks of the Winchester Police Department where he enjoyed a 26 year career holding a variety of positions during his tenure including: canine officer, school resource officer, detective, crime scene investigator and polygraph examiner.
After retiring from the department in October 2019, Craig was hired as the Program Director for Criminal Justice at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This position provided him with the opportunity to teach, mentor and advise students interested in the criminal justice system.
In 2023 Craig joined Valley Health as a recruiter responsible for hiring of a variety of positions. Craig had the opportunity to transfer internally in 2023 to Manager of the Patient Experience Team, a position he held until accepting the Executive Director position with of the NSVSUC.
Craig is a graduate of James Madison University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Social Science and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development from the George Washington University.
